Want something fun and quirky to do with the family that is free and loads of fun? Come to the Chinchilla Melon Festival. Where else can one see watermelons be smashed and cracked open by a man’s head only, with no hands? Where can you ski using watermelons? Where can you bungy with watermelons? Where can you spit melon pips as far as you can with a crowd of thousands watching and cheering? Where else can you try your luck in a Melon Chariot? Or an obstacle course centred around melons? The Chinchilla Melon Festival is where you can do all of this and more. It only happens once every two years so if you don’t believe it, come see for yourself. The Festival is one of the most unique festivals that Australia has produced with excitement and hands on messy fun.
